Camp Sharon Parsons is an unstaffed nonprofit camp available for use by Youth groups, church groups, and other non-profit organization.
By requesting to utilize the camp visitors are required to abide by the following rules and respect the ground and facilities.
- Fire procedures
- Fires are allowed only in existing fire rings
- No flammable liquids are allowed on the property
- Fire buckets found near each fire ring must be filled with water and taken to fire ring before a fire is started. SEE SITE MAP.
- Fires must be completely extinguished when un-attended
- No trash burning
- Fire to be no higher than waist of the smallest camping participant
- Adhere to region fire regulations found at https://virginia.gov/wildland-prescribed-fire/wildfire-prevention/before-you-burn/
- Activities not allowed
- Safety
- Follow Wildlife Precaution for food storage. (Evidence of bears, opossum, and Raccoons have noted. Food should be stored safely at night and when unattended)
- Food storage – food must be stored in provided Bear Boxes or vehicles
- Wildlife interaction
- Leave animals alone
- Do not feed wildlife
- Do not chase the wildlife
- Report wildlife sightings on check out form
- No smoking in the buildings or cabins.
- No cigarette butts on the property, No trace left behind.
- No drugs or drug paraphernalia
- No fireworks
- No fires outside of fire rings
- No cutting of trees or removal of vegetation without permission
- No digging
- No defacing of structures
- Personal firearms must be approved by Camp Facilities Committee
- Restricted Areas
- Food preparation pavilion is not available for use.
- Access to hot water is only available in the bathrooms and in the sinks at the end of the bathroom building if a foundation representative is onsite to turn the hot water system on.
- No access to warehouse except for shelter in place, maintenance shop, administration building, or boat shed.
- No vehicles past the main gate at the front parking lot

Camp Parsons offers access to Potable Water and Electrical Power for small appliances such as charging cell phones and lights in the individual and Group Pavilions.
Camp Parsons will accept good will donations from visitors to assist with costs of providing for the camp.
By deciding to visit Camp Sharon Parsons all visitors agree to adhere to stated and posted rules and hold The Sharon Parsons Foundation, and the Officers and Staff of the Foundation and Camp free of liability and blameless for any accident, injury, or mishap that may occur during travel to or from camp and during your visit. The Sharon Parsons Foundation recommends obtaining event insurance that may cover any of these occurrences should they happen.
