The Sharon Parsons Foundation
The Sharon Parsons Foundation (SPF) is a non-profit organization, formed to support a non-profit youth camp (Camp Parsons), which will enrich the lives of its campers and volunteers by providing a fun, unique, community experience. Our mission is to promote active participation in a safe & inclusive outdoor environment. We strive to encourage positive attitudes through a quality camping experience. The primary responsibilities of the SPF is to support the youth camp referred to as "Camp Parsons"
The SPF is established within the meaning of IRS Publication 557 Section 50l(c)(H) Organization of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the "Code'') or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code and shall be operated exclusively for the purpose of building and supporting a youth camp for outdoor activities.
Providing outdoor programs and camping opportunities to youth groups at no charge to those organizations.
The Sharon Parsons Foundation has been established to support a permanent youth camp located in Cumberland County to provide outdoor programs and camping opportunities to youth groups at no charge to those organizations. To do so, the Sharon Parsons Foundation, a 501C-3 non-profit organization, purchased 22 acres in Cumberland County and started developing Camp Parsons in 2019 and 40 additional acres in 2024.
We have great plans for this land and it is already offering a quality outdoor experience for local youth organizations. To fully develop Camp Parsons so that it can provide such outdoor experiences as repelling, “rock” climbing, fishing, hiking, biking, frisbee golf, and other outdoor training opportunities, we need your help… Any tax-deductible donation would be a great benefit to the camp.
Who was Sharon Parsons?
The Sharon Parsons Foundation commemorates the love and dedication Mrs. Parsons had for all youth.
Mrs. Parsons, in addition to raising three children and working full-time, managed to be an active life member of the PTA, was a co-founder of the King William Little League, and founding member of Boy Scout Troop 800. She served area youth until 2011 when she lost her battle with cancer. Many people relied on Mrs. Parsons for guidance, leadership, and love as denoted by the many parents who declared their sincere appreciation of how she had such an impact on the lives of local youth. She is missed by many.
The formation of the Sharon Parsons Foundation is a continuation of Sharon's energy, focus, impact, and dedication to serving area youth.
