Opened in October 2023, the shining jewel of Camp Parsons is our incredible Bathroom & Shower House. With six private bathrooms, four private two-room showers and hot and cold running water, you will not find a cleaner or more modern facility in any campground in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The Main Pavilion was the first structure erected at Camp Parsons in September of 2019. Situated on a fully covered 20'x40' concrete pad, it is available for large group gatherings and features picnic tables with seating for 80-100 people, electric lights for nighttime gatherings, ceiling fans for a cool breeze when it's hot and access to running water.
Located right next to the Health Lodge & Admin Building, our 30'x50' Warehouse was constructed in March 2020. in addition to storing equipment and supplies for the camp, it also serves as an emergency storm shelter in cases of extreme weather. Rated for Category 3 Hurricanes/140mph winds, it can easily protect everyone in the camp should the need arise.
Our Maintenance Shop is now on it's third life. Originally owned by the Midlothian Ruritan, it was donated to another camp after the Ruritan sold the property it was sitting on. After that camp closed down, it was dismantled piece by piece and reconstructed in March 2020 yet again at Camp Parsons. We always recycle, reuse and repurpose when we can. The maintenance shop rests on a concrete slab, has electricity and lights and houses all of our tools and woodworking equipment. If you cannot find Mr. Parsons around camp, you can usually find him in here working on a project for the camp.
The Health Lodge & Admin Building was constructed in November 2020. It is fully heated and air-conditioned with first-aid equipment and an AED for emergencies. The Health Lodge features two bunks for campers who are feeling ill, an ADA-compliant wheelchair access ramp and will soon have a fully functioning restroom with a shower. The Admin Office handles all the Camp Parsons business and gives you a place to checkout board games and purchase basic snacks, souvenirs and Camp Parsons merchandise.
